Testimonials

Oxanna’s work is smouldering – rich with layered treasures. Food for the eye & soul.

Barbara Mathews, Former Head of Art, Assistant Curriculum Leader, Northern S.S., TDSB

I am overwhelmed by the beauty of Oxanna’s art – the richness of themes, her use of colour, textures, contrasts and depth. Oxanna’s work invites me inside the painting, as well as inside myself.   Her skill lies in the powerful, creative evoking of a sort of spiritual awakening or experience.

Ruth Howard

Oxanna is an accomplished artist who is very focused and dedicated to painting. I admire her drive and intensity.

Janice Mason Steeves Artist, Art Instructor, Art Mentoring Coach

An excellent knowledge of colour and strong emotional tension fill the panels of Oxanna’s art work. The images draw the viewer in to spend time reading the story that is told in the textures and pallet.

Barbara Shaw

Oxanna’s artistic skill with cold wax and oil paint displays a beautiful, strong mystical power of imagery. Her mastery of the technique gives an instant “forward” statement. For me, totally inspirational!

William E. Macdonald

Oxanna’s paintings vibrate gently with an inner spirit – a deeper beauty. Often it’s the subtle nuance and delicate colour relationships in her work that provide its most compelling power.

About

I am attracted to northern landscapes - regions that are less traveled and magnificent in their wildness. My abstractions tell a story of powerful places that lift the spirit and stir the soul. I use oil paint mixed with cold wax medium to build up layers from which shapes emerge and colours solidify. The results are always unpredictable and surprising, mirroring my travel experiences. The memorable gems of discovery are those that emerge at the least expected moment.
