I just found out that one of my paintings, West Fjords -7 has been accepted in the 2018 Insights Juried Art Show at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, Fergus, Ontario. I am thrilled that this is the second year in a row that I will be participating. The show and sale runs from June 13 to September 3, 2018. Opening night is Wednesday June 13, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – awards ceremony 8:00 pm. The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located at 0536 Wellington Rd 18, Fergus ON N1M 2W3.

Both of my submissions were selected for the COAA Annual Juried Exhibition – Point of View. Seismic Shift – 2 was awarded juror’s choice. The exhibit runs from February 17 to April 21, 2018 at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, 123 King Street West, Hamilton, Ontario. Opening reception and awards -March 4, 2 to 4 p.m.

Here I am about to climb the big hill at Highlands Nordic near Collingwood. So, why do I look so happy? I just found out that I have been granted permanent membership in the Guelph Studio Tour. I can’t wait to get back to my studio and start painting!

I am attracted to northern landscapes - regions that are less traveled and magnificent in their wildness. My abstractions tell a story of powerful places that lift the spirit and stir the soul. I use oil paint mixed with cold wax medium to build up layers from which shapes emerge and colours solidify. The results are always unpredictable and surprising, mirroring my travel experiences. The memorable gems of discovery are those that emerge at the least expected moment.
