The Baer Art Centre

October 12, 2017 by Oxanna Adams

I spent a week at the beautiful Baer Art Centre in northern Iceland. There were eight artists from four different countries. Together, we painted, cooked meals, shared stories and laughter. It was an unforgettable, immersive, fun filled educational experience.

The Baer Art Centre is located on a horse farm.

Returning to Iceland

September 28, 2017 by Oxanna Adams

The remote West Fjords region is my favourite place in Iceland. This rugged, sparsely populated area is etched in my memory.  I am inspired to express through art, the beauty and power of this magical landscape.

About

I am attracted to northern landscapes - regions that are less traveled and magnificent in their wildness. My abstractions tell a story of powerful places that lift the spirit and stir the soul. I use oil paint mixed with cold wax medium to build up layers from which shapes emerge and colours solidify. The results are always unpredictable and surprising, mirroring my travel experiences. The memorable gems of discovery are those that emerge at the least expected moment.
